Paris 2024 official branded products are now available on the Olympic Store on Alibaba Group’s B2C marketplace Tmall, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced this week.

The official Olympic flagship store on Tmall, launched in 2018, gives Chinese sports fans the opportunity to celebrate sporting achievements and purchase exclusive merchandise.

Ahead of Paris 2024, the assorted official licensed products on offer have expanded to include a 38cm-tall plush toy of “The Phryges,” official emblems of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of Paris 2024, in addition to figurines of the mascots at the iconic Eiffel Tower.

There is also a series of commemorative Olympic-themed silver coins.

“With the debut of Paris 2024 official licensed products, Tmall will amplify fan engagement by offering a variety of captivating online activities and interactive experiences,” said Danli Yu, General Manager, Tmall Marketing Department and Platform, Taobao & Tmall Group, Alibaba’s China commerce business.

“We look forward to bringing a unique experience of Paris 2024 to more Chinese consumers,” she added.

This initiative allows year-round availability of official Olympic merchandise beyond the event cycle, ensuring access for Chinese consumers at any time.

Since its launch, the store has attracted millions of followers and billions of visits, with the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and its mascot Bing Dwen Dwen merchandise achieving exceptional success.

“As one of the world’s largest ecommerce marketplaces for brands and retailers, Tmall provides an unrivalled platform for us to engage and connect with fans seeking Olympic branded merchandise,” said Anne-Sophie Voumard, Managing Director, IOC TMS.

Alibaba Group and the IOC entered a historic, long-term strategic partnership in January 2017 to help transform the Olympic Games for the digital era. Alibaba Group serves as the official “Cloud Services” and “E-Commerce Services” Partner of the IOC and is a Founding Partner of the Olympic Channel through to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
