BANGKOK — Amata, a Thai developer known for its industrial parks in Thailand and Vietnam, is launching a significant project in Laos. The initiative aims to draw manufacturers looking to relocate from China amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and China.

Amata’s founder and Chairman, Vikrom Kromadit, noted that the upcoming U.S. presidential election and uncertainties in China’s economy could drive more Chinese companies to seek expansion opportunities abroad.

In a recent interview with Nikkei Asia, Kromadit emphasized the importance of overseas expansion as a potential lifeline for these companies, signaling a shift in regional manufacturing dynamics.
